Alicia Rodriguez - Licensed Esthetician, Certified Acne Specialist & Certified Sugar Practitioner

I completed Esthetician training at Bellus Academy in Poway, CA and also did a Sugaring certification training with Sweet and True Sugaring Co. at the North Park location here in San Diego. I am also a certified Acne Specialist with Face Reality Skincare. I am always researching and learning more each and everyday in the skincare industry which furthers my knowledge and helps my clients with their skin needs and skincare goals.

My Personal Philosophy

My personal philosophy as owner of Aly Does Esthetics is being open-minded and all clients that walk into the treatment room are all deserving of the upmost respect, kindness and attention given to because they are treating themselves to personal care services from their hectic days and deserve to unwind.

How I got Inspired to become an Esthetician

When I was a sophomore in high school, I started experiencing hormonal acne severely on my chin and on the forehead. Not only did this take a toll on my confidence, it took a toll on my physical and mental health as well. When I would be invited to outings with friends or family, I would often decline because of how ugly I truly felt and I was afraid of being judged or looking dirty due to my skin condition. After trying many different methods of treating my acne, none seemed to work. This caused a separation between the people I love the most, and most importantly, myself. I lost my sense of self love during this time because of what my skin was doing to me and that's just something unheard of. My mother was the one to notice that my skin has caused a major effect on me and she offered to help. She ended up booking a consultation with an esthetician who specializes in acne treatment. Months later, her skin care recommendations and her treatments transformed my skin for the better and I couldn't be more thankful! This was one of my biggest inspirations. Months later after graduating high school, I went to Esthetics school to become an Esthetician, because I know how much of a difference and impact skin can make and I want to be able to give that to others so they can thrive and enjoy life with beautiful skin. I am now licensed and I can't wait to change the skin of all my clients that walk through the spa doors.

A little bit about me:

I enjoy traveling the world but when I am home in San Diego, I enjoy hiking and nature walks. I also enjoy watching horror movies, listening and dancing to all sorts of music, and spending time with friends, family, and most importantly, my Chihuahua, Chuy.
